8-bit Donkey Kong art brings modern pop culture to the barrel-throwing gaming icon

When the discussion of archaic, iconic games hits any group of young geeks or old nerds, the topic often turns towards PAC-MAN, Space Invaders, Pong, or Frogger. Invariably, depending on how long the conversation lasts, someone brings up one of the other classics that many often forget because it is one of the only ones with a popular series of continuations in modern gaming: Donkey Kong.

Artist Baznet created an amazing series of 8-bit images that put characters like Luke Skywalker and Indiana Jones into the game. Check it out:
