Twitter hops into bed with iOS 5 for some ‘deep integration’

Monday is going to be an interesting day, to say the least. Rumours surrounding WWDC ’11 concern all sorts of neat stuff, including but not limited to what the final build of Lion has in store, iCloud, and more. But this is a cool little tidbit, especially if you’re a Twitter freak. According to Rob Scoble, Twitter will have deep integration with iOS5, much more robust than “lame send to Twitter buttons”, and “a lot deeper than just photos”. What exactly this means remains unclear for the moment, but if like me you’re a Twitter nut, you await the official announcement with bated breath. Hopefully, we won’t have to die of asphyxiation.

  1. yup 🙁 i dont like this too .. the twitter client is perfect now and the homescreen of iPhone looks great now. why ruining it with so many notifications and widgets ?

  2. I don’t like it.  I don’t like it anymore than Apple force-feeding me Google, YouTube, and whatever other crummy native app they force onto my home screen.  Any OS should remain unbiased toward third parties, especially when including those third parties doesn’t reduce the price of their $600 phone.
