U.N. launches its first drones to monitor violence in eastern Congo

United Nations forces launched surveillance drones for the first time this week in an effort to track potential violence on the Democratic Republic of Congo’s war-torn easternmost borders. 

United Nations forces in Democratic Republic of Congo launched unmanned aircraft on Tuesday to monitor the volatile border with Rwanda and Uganda, the first time U.N. peacekeepers have deployed surveillance drones.
