Google Serves Microsoft on Their Official Blog

The now Internet powerhouse Google used its blog today to call out Microsoft on its new open source 2010 Office suite. A day before Microsoft takes its Office 2010 suite out of beta; Matthew Glotzbach, Google Enterprise Product Management Director, has posted a blog entry urging Microsoft Office users to forget Office and use Google’s new upgrade, Google Docs.
“If you choose this path, upgrade means what it’s supposed to mean: effortless, affordable, and delivering a remarkable increase in employee productivity,” writes Glozbach in his post earlier today. “This is a refreshing alternative to the expensive and laborious upgrades to which IT professionals have become accustomed.”Google Docs is a free upgrade that collaborates directly with Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007. The original post goes into great detail with the features and benefits of Docs and compares it’s program to Office 2010; the biggest difference being the price. Google also posted a comparison chart which ran down the differences between the two software packages:

Hey, very nice blog. I came across this on Google, and I am stoked that I did. I will definitely be coming back here more often. Wish I could add to the conversation and bring a bit more to the table, but am just taking in as much info as I can at the moment.
Thank You.
Okay, Office is *not* open-source.
