The number of radios in phones seems to be increasing almost exponentially. The iPhone5 will have to have EDGE, 3G, WiFi, and LTE radios since AT&T will have 3 different and incompatible technologies across varying parts of the country. What fun, one will have to be turning on and off these various radios depending on what little tiny polkadot of coverage one is in at that moment. I expect AT&T to announce 5G technology any time now, to be rolled out beginning in 2012.
