Prime Minister Tony Abbott still refuses to allow an inquiry into the Australian intelligence services, after it emerged that they were content with sharing surveillance data with the U.S. and U.K. without stripping out data relating to normal Australian citizens.

Australia’s intelligence services have been happy — at least in principle — to share raw data with espionage partners in the U.S. and Britain that almost certainly describes the communications of Australian citizens, according to the latest NSA leak published by the Guardian.
