Interesting thought, but it certainly isn’t true. People ARE willing to pay for access to social media if it makes their life easier. Maybe not in the way the writer is assuming, but by buying a desktop/iPhone/iPad app. 😉

Is this really that big of a shock? I like Twitter but I would not pay to have an account. Just like I wouldn’t pay for a Facebook or any other social media account. There are plenty of ways for Twitter to make money without charging for the service.
