.. Avoid ALL torrents, avoid ALL free downloads? How about being SMART about it, look up reputation related information, have good antvirus installed and enabled…. that extreme, IMO, hardly seems logical or necessary.

Yeah, that part about avoiding all torrents seemed a little like an anti-piracy message instead of just general web safety, but the fact is that many torrents are questionable and do represent a legitimate security threat to your computer. By simply saying “avoid all,” the authors made the simplest, most direct suggestion.
