Google has been on a rampage over the last few years promoting the cause of increasing internet speed. They are pushing for faster connections and faster loading pages. Faster connections are something they can have a direct effect on by helping build a stronger infrastructure, but they can only encourage people to code their websites better to make them faster… … or can they just fix it themselves? They can and will. Page Speed Service is being designed to allow people to point their site’s DNS entry to Google.  They will fetch the content from the servers, rewrite the pages, and present them to the world from Google’s own servers with the potential of serving them 20%-60% faster. If they can’t get the people to code better, they’ll fix the coding for them. It will launch for free to a limited test group first and will eventually be a paid service that Google offers.
