iOS4 ‘Clone’ Running On An HTC Device Performs Like You Might Expect: Garbage

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IY-uRRCARJw Something bizarre, real quick – it seems someone big on time and short on things to do has decided to ‘clone’ iOS4 to an HTC device, and the video here is the result. Unfortunately, not much info on this, except that it’s Chinese, and appears to be slow as hell – at least as slow as iOS4 running on an iPhone 3G. But like I said last week, it’s not how well the pig dances, but that it dances at all. It’s pretty surreal to see iOS running on another device, isn’t it?
There are a few subtle differences that make me doubt this is actually iOS. For example, when you start the weather app, it doesn’t usually flip over to ask you for a city. Some of the transitions are either wrong or missing. I say it’s a convincing chinese fake.
Hmmm…no going to safari or app store i imagine it would run alot better on one of the newer droids.
the actual result is actually pretty decent, the keyboard looks quite responsive, and the actual apps seems to be working, (although it does take a while to start apps it seems) still the only thing that is garbage here is the author of this article
Its probably slow because its on an HTC Magic…525mhz proc and 192mb of ram.
Run it on the Nexus one… im sure it would run much better.
Don’t assume it’s slow because HTC devices suck balls. You have to put the blame in the person who made the damn clone or port. Seriously, people need to stop acting like Apple is the only company out there doing things right.
