Leak: Ubisoft appears to be working on a Watch Dogs sequel

If you made a list of recent games that promised more than they delivered, Watch Dogs would be somewhere at the top. Even the creative director of the developers that made the game admitted that it wasn’t perfect in any way, however, the sequel is going to be better. While we were already pretty sure there was going to be a sequel, a Ubisoft employee by the name of Julien Risse accidentally confirmed that game’s development on his LinkedIn profile.

Ubisoft employee, Julien Risse, may have inadvertently confirmed Watch Dogs 2, thanks to his online CV over at LinkedIn. Creative Director Jonathan Morin has already talked about his ideas for improvements for the sequel, describing how they set out “to create something that would make people dream about something else” with the first game, but that it ultimately wasn’t “perfect in any way”, with some aspects of the game not panning out as they’d hoped. In the same conversation with GamesTM talking about Watch Dogs 2, Morin went on to say “with a sequel, there is more pressure to push a brand forward and we now have to appeal to fans in a new way. You have to carry on taking risks,”. Ideally, next time around, we can look forward to a protagonist that is slightly more exciting than a day old glass of water. Yves Guillemot has admitted that he was aware that the characters would polarise opinions, and that Ubisoft would look to diversify characters going forward. Hopefully we’ll have official confirmation and more news at E3.
