South Korean technology companies like LG and Samsung have always prided themselves on their quality displays, and the upcoming LG G4 will stay true to this. The company showed off the 5.5-inch QHD display on its next-generation flagship smartphone yesterday, one which comes with an eye-searingΒ 1440Γ2560 resolution,Β which is 538ppi. While this isn’t that different from LG’s previous flagship, that’s just fine because the LG G3’s screen was ahead of its time anyway.Β
Like their bitter rival Samsung, LG is a company that prides themselves on making great displays. In the last couple of years weβve seen LG shrink bezels and bump resolution faster than anyone. LGβs displays are so important that they take the time to separately announce new displays. Today theyβre showing off a new 5.5-inch QHD display that will most likely be found in the LG G4.Β The new display comes in with a resolution of 1440Γ2560, which is 538ppi. Thatβs not much of a difference from the display in the LG G3, but thatβs perfectly fine. 2K displays are just starting to become the norm on flagship devices. HTC hasnβt even moved past 1080p yet. Beyond pixels the new display has advanced touch sensitivity and a higher contrast ratio.
