Even though Microsoft released some of its Office apps on the iPad, users were still forced to turn to OneDrive for their cloud storage needs which was especially annoying considering that you need a paid subscription to even save files to OneDrive through any of the apps. Microsoft has finally addressed this issue by allowing users to save their files directly to Apple’s iCloud.
Last year Microsoft made the decision to do away with the need for an Office 365 subscription for users of its Office for iPad apps, thus allowing users to view and make basic edits without having to need a subscription, although like we pointed out in our previous report, more advanced features would require a subscription, such as saving to OneDrive. Now for those who want to save their documents to the cloud, such as Apple’s iCloud, you will be pleased to learn that Microsoft has recently updated their Office for iPad apps to support saving to iCloud. This means that if you’d rather not rely on OneDrive, subscribe to Office 365, or use Dropbox, saving to iCloud is now possible.
