Imgur has managed to beat out pretty much all of the other image sharing services out there for a number of reasons, including short URLs and no lag, and now the website is making things even better by discontinuing its premium Imgur Pro service and making all of the features available to users for free. Basically all this does is remove the limit on the number of photos you could post but its still good.Β
Chances are if youβve ever browsed Reddit, youβve run into a photo or two hosted on Imgur.com (likely all of them). The photo sharing service that has become synonymous with Reddit has long been the siteβs go-to photo sharing service thanks to its easy uploading capabilities, stupidly short URLs, and various posting options.Β Itβs been exactly 6 years since the service first went live and for their 6th birthday, Imgur has announced that theyβre now βphasing outβ their once paid premium option β Imgur Pro β by giving it away absolutely free of charge. Imgur Pro allowed users to upload as many photos as theyβd like for only $23 a year which really wasnβt too unreasonable when compared to offerings from Dropbox or Google.
